shaped by challenging years and the emotional landscape that came with it. Released on

December 4, 2025, the song blends alternative and indie rock with subtle influences from the

’80s and ’90s — a reflection of the music Gizem and Utku Demirhan have long connected with

A Song That Started With a Simple Guitar Line

“We poured everything we had into every second of this song,” Gizem says. “A lot of it came

from the real-life challenges we were going through. The music became a way to process all of

it.”

A song about holding on, staying present, and remaining “still here” even when life feels

overwhelming.

Still Here began with just a simple acoustic guitar rhythm Utku Demirhan played about a year

ago. Over time, the two kept returning to that small idea, adding new layers, refining the sound,

and slowly building it into the fuller, more powerful track it became. As the song evolved, they

collaborated with producer Orçun Ayata, who helped bring the arrangement to life and turn their

vision into a polished, expressive production.

The song has already started gaining attention, appearing on playlists such as Indie Pop Rock

from Germany and European Indie Rock 2025 giving Still Here an early and encouraging

push.

Now based in Berlin, Gizem creates music with Utku Demirhan, writing, arranging, and
